Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Fox Fire Campground located?

Fox Fire Campground is conveniently located 1 mile north of Woodruff in Arbor Vitae in the heart of Wisconsin's Northwoods. Our location provides easy access to lakes, trails, fishing, boating, shopping, restaurants, golf courses, and many local attractions while maintaining a quiet campground atmosphere.

What types of campsites do you offer?

We offer a variety of campsite options, including full-hookup RV sites, water and electric sites, and primitive camping sites. Site sizes and layouts vary throughout the campground and are posted on this website at each site location within this website.

Will my RV fit on your campsites?

Most RVs and travel trailers can be accommodated. Our sites have published length and height restrictions on for each site...please read site description before booking. Also, no class A's or 5th wheels are permitted on our lakeside sites as they are too small for them.

Is your water safe to drink?

Yes. Our water system is regularly tested in accordance with applicable health department requirements and has consistently met required drinking standards.

Like many groundwater systems in northern Wisconsin, our water contains naturally occurring iron minerals. While iron may affect taste, color, or odor, it is not a health concern. Some guests choose to use RV water filters or water softeners to improve taste, just as many local homeowners do.

Do I need a water filter for my RV?

Most guests use campground water without issue. However, many RV owners prefer to use an inline water filter regardless of where they camp. A filter may improve taste and reduce the effects of naturally occurring minerals. Our office and main bathrooms have a water softener which removes any rust from the water in our main building

What electrical service is available?

Most campsites provide electrical service appropriate for RV camping. We have 30 amp and 50 amp sites. We are continually maintaining and modernizing our campground infrastructure as part of our ongoing commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable camping experience.

As with any campground, we recommend that RV owners use a quality surge protector or electrical management system to help protect their equipment.

Are the restrooms and shower facilities maintained regularly?

Yes. Our restroom and shower facilities are cleaned and maintained regularly throughout the camping season 7 days a week. We strive to provide clean and functional facilities for all guests.

Are pets allowed?

Yes. All well-behaved pets are welcome. Pets must be kept under control, kept on a leash at all times, cleaned up after, and comply with campground rules to ensure an enjoyable experience for all guests. No pets permitted in beach area

Is Wi-Fi available?

Wi-Fi is available but only in and around our main office building. If you need dedicated Wi-Fi at your site, we recommend Star-link or even a Verizon Jet Pack for internet service. Be advised that Verizon is pretty much the only service available in the campground. Unplug and enjoy the outdoors...isn't that why you are here?

Do you offer seasonal campsites?

Yes. Fox Fire Campground offers seasonal and daily camping opportunities for guests who wish to enjoy the Northwoods throughout the camping season. Seasonal sites are limited in availability and varies from year to year.

  • Minocqua and Woodruff shopping and dining
